Seismic Vulnerability Assessment of 450 Bridges in Region 11, NYSDOT

B & H Engineering, P.C. has performed seismic vulnerability assessment, as a tri-venture partner, of 450 bridges in Region 11 for the New York State Department of Transportation.

Work included engineering services for the preparation of a seismic vulnerability assessment report and retrofitting recommendations for 450 bridges. The bridges are located on the designated Emergency Access Evaluation (EAC) Routes. The bridges assessed entailed the identification of bridge components that are vulnerable to seismic failure. Bridge details included structures type, bearings, pier types, footings, and soil data. Report recommendation included bridge replacement, structure rehabilitation and retrofitting of bridge components.
