Mid-Hudson Bridge and Newburgh-Beacon Bridge Structure Repairs, NYSBA

            
                                                                               

B & H Engineering, P.C. has provided construction management and inspection services, as a prime consultant, to the New York State Bridge Authority for the Substructure repairs at he Mid-Hudson and Newburgh-Beacon Bridges. Newburgh-Beacon Bridge work included partial depth concrete repairs on abutments and selected piers on bridge; cleaning and sealing abutments and top surfaces of structures and cap beams; concrete barrier parapet repairs; sealing of concrete repairs; environmental ground protection; and work zone traffic control.

Mid-Hudson Bridge work included partial depth concrete and superficial crack repairs on route 9W West Abutment, East and West anchorages, and East approach structures; lighting upgrade for West anchorage and installation of new lighting in span 4 of the West anchorage; epoxy injection of vertical cracks inside the East Anchorage; installation of segmental retaining walls at the West thrust blocks of the railroad arch with appropriate drainage improvements and erosion control; reconstruction of slope paving blocks with appropriate drainage improvements and erosion control; installation of concrete landing and segmental retaining walls; work zone traffic control; repair deteriorated masonry wall at south west corner of the West Anchorage; replace steel scupper drainpipe below the east approach with PVC; sealing of concrete repairs; and environmental ground protection.
